Edinburgh city centre - 3 Restaurants and 10 serviced Apartments – 2017 to 2018 - £3M
This large, listed building contained a complex of three restaurants and ten serviced apartments. The refurbishment specification contained the creation of bars, a restaurant and an accommodation unit. We worked closely with the client to ensure the project was delivered on time, to specification and under budget, by utilising value engineering techniques.
Advocates Close Edinburgh – 2015 to 2016 12 months - £1.1m
This listed complex, consisting of 40-holiday apartments, 3 restaurants and a bar within a large commercial unit in Edinburgh’s Old Town required refurbishment. £1,100,000.00. The main buildings and surrounding building all had listed building consent, requiring us to work closely with the wider design team to agree to the exact specification and scope of works. The project has gone on to win various awards in the two years since its refurbishment, and we have received numerous commendations on our role in the design and construction from stakeholders, including the client, independent critics and end users.
Caledonian Hotel Edinburgh 2013 – 6 Months £1.2m
This 5 star Hotel and listed building required a new restaurant and bar to be formed at the same time the hotel and other bars and restaurants remained open, The refurbishment specification contained the creation of Peacock Alley 5 star a restaurant and Bar to the old Henry J Bean bar and Grill, We worked closely with the client to ensure this award-winning project was delivered on time, to specification and under budget, by utilising value engineering techniques.
Livingston Inn Ltd – 2016 10 20 week programme - £2m
We acted as the principal contractor and designer as part of a construction and design service for a hotel, bar and restaurant. The value of the works totalled £2,000,000, which included extensive refurbishment to the bar and lounge areas of the listed 1840s property.
The works followed a design consultation period, where the client specified they wanted the original features to be retained but updated, which also prolonged their life through specialist conservation techniques. The construction phase was carried out whilst the premises were occupied, requiring us to plan work streams around the occupants’ needs and requirements. As such, small adjustments to the programme on an ongoing basis. Through close effective management of staff and material resources, the project was delivered on time and to budget.
Howden House Livingston – 2009 – £1.6M
A refurbishment to the existing listed building, including the creation of a Dance hall and state of art Theatre and restaurants. One of DBM first large projects, successfully completed on time and to budget snag free.
Luxury Car Showroom – BMW Perth 2018 - £1m
The project comprises the extension to and refurbishment of the existing ground and first floor of Grassicks Car Showroom in Perth. The project will be split into the following four phases
Phase 1 – External Works and 1st floor fit out
Phase 2 – New extension
Phase 3 – Refurbishment works to existing Showroom
Phase 4 – Refurbishment to remaining areas of Showroom
The extension increases the total floor area by approximately 200m². The extension is of structural steel frame construction. Outer walls are of glazing and render panels, the roof covering match the existing adjacent roof covering.

Carron Valley Denny 2010 - £450K
Demolition of existing bungalow and design of two number, semi-detached, two-storey, eco-friendly homes, full design and construction carried out by DBM team.
Bungalow With Disabled Adaptions – Drymen 2016 £440k
New Single Storey storey disabled adapted bungalow construction for Stirling Council, Building was of timber frame with brickwork and rendered external walls, all trades carried out by DBM Building.
Tesco Fit Works Banchory and Orkney 2011 to 2012 - £700K
Employed to fit out the two tesco stores one in Bancory Aberdeen and Orkney
Bathville Armadale – 2016 to 2018 £1m
Refurbishment of existing flats creating new flats upgrading existing and creating new staircases and landscape areas.
Tiso Store – Aviemore 2018 £1m
The project comprises Fit-out of new Tiso outdoor centre in Aviemore creating retain space, soft play and café area over two floors of newly constructed building shell within the retail park.
The fit out increases the total floor area by approximately 2000m². This project was challenging due to location and demands on labour and obtaining materials for local suppliers, however, was delivered within budget.

Aberdeen Art Gallery – 2017 12 months- £1.4m
A refurbishment to the existing listed building, including the creation of a new gallery space. And refurb of 4 floors This project was extremely challenging due to the complex nature of restricted access for deliveries, however, the team at DBM successfully completed on time and to budget snag free.
